Perhaps the most exciting part of spring is seeing vivid colors emerge from their wintertime hibernation. The colors found in fashion are reminiscent of the flowers in bloom everywhere you look. That being said, I'm feeling the need to add some more color to my own wardrobe. And what better way than by working up this great bag by Lucy?
The yarn has been picked out, and just as soon as I press "publish" this bag will be underway. Stay tuned for the final product.
And did I take a picture of the final project? Of course not. Perhaps it's because it was finished in the wee hours of the night, and the thought of a camera never even crossed my mind. But the blanket, crocheted with nothing but love, has been gifted, and will hopefully play an important roll in a new little baby's life. And gosh, I said it before, but there's nothing quite like giving a handmade gift to just the right person. My heart is happy.
My next project, I'm completely excited about because I've been wanting to make it for just about forever. However, again, it won't be for me. Because women get pregnant in groups (or so it seems), this will be for our receptionist at work, who just found out she is expecting a sweet little girl. And here it is:

These days, wherever I go I'm bound to have a tote bag in tow. Why?

Not only have I been bitten by the granny square bug, I've also been bitten by the hexagon bug. I'm using about 8 different colors from my stash to make the hex blanket, and I have to say it's kind of nice to grab colors at random. No plans. Just fun.
The granny square blanket I have in progress is nearly done, but it's a gift for someone, so I can't share it quite yet. You're going to love it though. I sure do!
